The Dancer Series

Throughout his career, whether as an element in a larger
composition or as a central figure, Barooshian has explored  a
the human figure instate of ecstatic dance.  Currently, we are
showing representative oils and etchings of his later Dancer
Series, notable for a marked simplification of the human form   .
and intricate abstract pointillist patterns.  In these works, a lone dancer inhabits her own isolated
universe of joy and motion.  This celebration is shared and echoed by the jewel colored world she
creates.  Barooshian freezes the moment of artistic creation, yet retains all of its spontaneity and
transience.  Throughout, these works display Barooshian’s signature visual density, taming bold
and lyrical organic patterns against an initially imperceptible  backdrop of geometric order.
The result is a series of paradoxes: explosive grace, complex simplicity, and ordered chaos.
We will soon be adding work from Barooshian's earlier biomorphic dancer series.
