The Abstract Pictographic Period represents |
|
Barooshian's only foray into Abstract Expressionism |
|
so popular amongst his colleagues. Inspired by |
|
work by Paul Klee and Bradley Walker Tomlin, |
|
Barooshian produced rhythmically compelling |
| works taking full advantage of his color sense and
calligraphic line. This period, though short lived, |
| is pivotal in the artist's development, foreshadowing his
obsessive need to fill his canvas with |
| a visual feast, demanding renewed interest at every
turn. These works also bear an early witness |
| to Barooshian's experimental methodologies for creating
visual depth by manipulating overlapping |
| form and strong color. |
