Barooshian was one of the first artists to |
|
truly embrace the monotype as a primary mode of |
|
artistic expression. By first painting on a metal plate |
|
and then transferring the oil paint to paper using |
|
a press, Barooshian combined his many technical |
| talents, creating works of great immediacy, depth,
experimentation, and wonder. Out of a |
| composition rich in color and rhythm, biomorphic shapes
emerge inviting the viewer to interact |
| with the work, imparting their own sense of
narrative, humor, and morality onto an inherently |
| illogical universe. |
