Barooshian was one of the first artists to
truly embrace the monotype as a primary mode of
artistic expression.  By first painting on a metal plate
and then transferring the oil paint to paper using
a press, Barooshian combined his many technical
talents, creating works of great immediacy, depth, experimentation, and wonder.  Out of a
composition rich in color and rhythm, biomorphic shapes emerge inviting the viewer to interact
with the work,  imparting their own sense of narrative, humor, and morality onto an inherently
illogical universe.
